Why Casa Las Chanclas Is Perfect for a Family Holiday in Cadiz

Casa Las Chanclas is a modern 3-bedroom villa just 500 metres from the award-winning Playa de La Barrosa, in the Cadiz province. It’s built for families and friends who want to relax without giving up comfort. The villa sleeps up to 6 guests and has 3 bathrooms (2 in the house and 1 by the pool), a private saltwater pool, a fully enclosed garden and spacious terraces. Everything a family needs for a carefree summer holiday.

Where Is Casa Las Chanclas? A Prime Location on the Costa de la Luz

Casa Las Chanclas is in Chiclana de la Frontera, in the province of Cadiz, on Spain’s Costa de la Luz. It’s just 500 metres on foot from the award-winning Playa de La Barrosa, one of the best beaches in southern Spain. Bars, restaurants, and supermarkets are all within walking distance, and the pretty harbour at Sancti Petri, with its water sports and boat trips, is about 2 kilometres away. It sits in a quiet residential area, so it suits families who want a proper base to come home to after the beach, not a noisy resort strip. A private pool is still fairly rare in this part of Chiclana, so it’s one of the first things guests notice.

Getting to Casa Las Chanclas

The nearest airport is Jerez, about 35 to 40 minutes away by car. Seville and Gibraltar airports are both roughly an hour and a half away, and Malaga airport is about two and a half hours. A car is useful if you want to explore further afield, but you don’t need one day to day. Everything you’re likely to need is within walking distance of the house, and there’s also a bus stop at the end of the road if you’d rather not drive. Check-in is simple too, since you collect the keys from a key safe, so you’re not tied to anyone else’s schedule if your flight lands early or late.

Inside Casa Las Chanclas: Space and Comfort for the Whole Family

The villa has 3 bedrooms and 5 beds in total, sleeping up to 6 guests. The main bedroom has a double bed, a small office corner, built-in wardrobes, and its own private bathroom with a shower. The other two bedrooms each have two single beds and built-in wardrobes, and they share a family bathroom with both a bath and a shower, useful if you’re travelling with young children. Every bedroom has a ceiling fan and windows that open wide, so the sea air moves through the house and it stays comfortably cool even at the height of summer. Air conditioning is also available in July and August, though most guests find they rarely need it (Please note that excess a/c usage will incur an extra charge).

There’s a well-equipped kitchen and an open-plan living and dining area, with doors leading straight out to the terrace and pool. The garden is fully enclosed, with a saltwater pool, a covered outdoor dining area, and a covered terrace, so you get both sun and shade throughout the day.

One practical note for families with young children: the pool doesn’t have a locking gate, so as with any private pool, children should be supervised at all times.

A Day at Casa Las Chanclas

Your day starts with breakfast on the terrace while the children plan their first swim. The beach is only a few minutes’ walk away, with miles of golden sand and clear Atlantic water. When you’re hungry, stop at one of the beachside cafés for fresh seafood, tapas, or churros. In the afternoon, cool off in your own private pool while dinner cooks on the barbecue. As the sun goes down, enjoy a glass of wine on the covered terrace, then finish the evening with a swim in the pool, under the stars.

Exploring Sancti Petri and Beyond

If you like to get out and explore, everything is close by. In Sancti Petri harbour, you can try paddleboarding, kayaking, or cycling, take a boat trip, eat at some excellent seafood restaurants, and watch some of the best sunsets in southern Spain. If you fancy a day trip: Cadiz city, Seville, and Jerez are all reachable by car, though most guests are happy to spend the week without ever needing one.

Everything You Need for a Comfortable Family Stay

Inside our home, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, and outside, a large covered terrace for dining and relaxing. The pool is lit at night, so you can swim after dark. The villa has WiFi and air conditioning in the bedrooms, although using the ceiling fans with the windows open is a much nicer experience. The set up is ideal for families with children looking for a fun and relaxing holiday. Pets are welcome by arrangement, and there is secure parking on site.

A Real Family Holiday Home

Casa Las Chanclas isn’t a property bought purely to rent out. It’s our own family home, in the area of Spain where we now live, and we’re sharing it because we’ve spent so many good summers and weekends here ourselves and now we are off discovering other parts of Spain in the summer months. So far, every guest who has stayed has rated it five stars.

Why You Should Book Your Cadiz Holiday Now

July and August are the busiest weeks of the Spanish summer, and this villa is only available for those two months in 2027. Once those weeks are gone, they don’t come back until next year (maybe!). If you already know you want to bring your family to Cadiz for summer 2027, reserve your dates now. You won’t be disappointed!
