The Region of Andalusia …

With a surface area of 87,597 square kilometres, 17,3% of the total area of the country,  Andalusia is the second largest autonomous community in Spain.

Located in the South of the Iberian Peninsula, Andalusia is bordered by Murcia and the Mediterranean Sea to the East, by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean to the West, by the Strait of Gibraltar and Mediterranean Sea to the South and by Murcia and Extremadura to the North.

The most populated autonomous community of Spain, Andalusia, is divided into eight provinces: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga & Seville.  (Click on the different regions to see videos and discover more information about them).

Many areas of Andalusia enjoy more than three hundred sunny days a year. Average annual temperatures are over 16°C (61°F). The Mediterranean climate brings dry summers that are also subject to occasional torrential rains and extremely high temperatures. Cold polar fronts often penetrate the region during winter months. The climate in Andalusia varies dramatically across the region.

Andalusia is home to the cultural phenomena of flamencobullfighting, Moorish architecture and wonderful food.
